Book Synopsis

A research laboratory opens on the outskirts of the West Country town of Abbeyford, bringing with it new people, jobs, prosperity and publicity to the area – as well as a mob of protestors and animal rights activists. The team at Abbeyford police station take this new level of civil disorder in their stride – until a fatal car bombing of one of the laboratory’s head scientists means more drastic measures must be taken…

Detective Sergeant Kate Redman is struggling to come to terms with being back at work after a long period of absence on sick leave; not to mention the fact that her erstwhile partner Mark Olbeck has now been promoted above her. The stakes get even higher as a multiple murder scene is discovered and a violent activist is implicated in the crime. Kate and the team must put their lives on the line to expose the murderer and untangle the snarl of accusations, suspicions and motives.

Snarl is the new Kate Redman Mystery from bestselling crime writer Celina Grace, author of Hushabye, Requiem and Imago.

Celina Grace has created another perfectly crafted mystery. Just when the reader thinks Kate Redman is on the right track, another theory presents itself, with the assistance of members of her team. These are dedicated investigators who care about each other as much as they care about bringing justice for people who can no longer speak for themselves. These memorable characters will once again, capture your imaginations, and leave you spellbound.

I enjoyed every line in the book! I was glad that Kate was going to dump Andrew in the end! He was not right for her. Hopefully she will pass the Inspector's exam and get her an inspector position. I recommend this book and sorry if I gave too much away for you.

This is the fourth book in the Kate Redman series that I have read, and I intend to read the rest of the series. That is how much I like these books. One small detail I found a bit confusing in this particular story was the character of Guy Wade being called Guy Ward in a few instances. Not crucial, but caused me to backtrack. Overall I enjoy the repeat characters and the way the mystery unfolds. The fifth story is definitely on my "to do" list.

First book I read by this author. I enjoyed the storyline but needs more editing. I was confused that they went from crime scene to (office?) to discuss the case. What happened to Stuart? I liked all the characters as they were likable and believable. 4 stars because of editing.

Another good book by this author. Characters come to life, one can feel their emotions. Plots and endings unpredictable.

As the saying goes, this one started off with a bang. It moves right along while presenting several characters to be the bad guy, until you read the next sentence. This story raises the violence level yet does not go overboard to the point of being non-believable. This is not one of your run of the mill mysteries but the author was able to bring it all off with the smoothness she does so well. However, I don't see what is so important about the personal life of one of the characters. Just my opinion. Still another great read by Ms Grace, urging me to finish this review and get started on the next book in this series. RET. LT.

I like the series of Kate. I've read four of the e-books. My problem isn't with Celina Grace, the author, as far as her writing. She is very talented. It makes me angry, however, that her books couldn't be combined and customers charged less. This is true with several of the series authors.
