Very fast moving. Police work a lot different overseas. More emphasis on physically running down leads with a team rather than than alone. There were 5 or 6 researching one case for days. Too much reliance on titles, DI, DS before names and excessive use of”bird” thrown in at the end of sentences etc. The plot line was very interesting and also pointed out that victim bashing happened there years ago. Women have made some progress!

I’ve been reading about Kate Redman since the first book and have wondered along the way where this path would lead. In the previous book all the ends were tied and Grace could have ended the series there. So with the more secure relationship with Anderton, Kate returns to work and her new boss—a case gets solved, and she gets to know her new boss, and she gets to know Anderton better. It made m smile.

Even in the first paragraphs, the book is off and running. Our suspicions, from the end of the previous book, "Pulse", about two of the team have been confirmed. At long last, it looks as though things are heading in the right direction for our lovers. The story then gets on to more serious issues, that of solving crimes committed on the "Patch" of our officers. As usual they buckle down and get things rolling. However, things do not run smoothly and the twists and turns start to unravel their best efforts at solving this case. The team stands fast and through diligent effort and long hours costing them personal sacrifices, they do get the job done. While this may sound over simplified, the story will take you through a very complex set of circumstances, surprises and shocks before it is all put together. Another great job done by this author. Sadly, coming to the end of the book means we must now wait for the next in this series. Come on Ms Grace, enough "holiday", back to writing. You have a huge fan base waiting out here for your next five star creation. KATO II
