Graduate student Raina Sun thought she knew what she was getting herself into when she volunteered to take the new foreign exchange student shopping on the last weekend before Christmas.     The second reading of this entry in the Raina Sun mystery series was just as fun and twisted as the first time! Grad student Raina, filling in for a friend at work, becomes embroiled in a clever business scheme that, unfortunately, results in a death. Throw in an extended family with animosity over what they deem as an unfair inheritance, and an on-again/off-again love affair, and Raina once again has her hands full! This in another must read for fans of author Anne Tan!

    The lead character, Raina, is a wonderfully developed character. Her boyfriend, Matthew, is confusing and difficult to incorporate into Raina’s life. If that was intentional, it was well done. Po Po is who I want to be! But I don’t have the energy... The storyline became confusing with so many dead ends and unused characters. The story was interesting and held a current news story of value.

    Loved it! Great author, wonderful main characters and it kept me interested from page one. It was heartwarming, funny and kept the mystery until the end, can’t wait to read more from this author!

    Grandma Po Po is a sort of Chinese auntie Mame. Where will Raina and Matthew's relationship go as the series develops? I absolutely never guessed the twist at the end. Look forward to reading the rest of this series
