Book Synopsis

Falling for your brother's best friend can be tricky...and fun!

Genevieve Hannigan has longed for her brother's best friend Wallace as long as she can remember. When she couldn't have the man of her dreams, she married his Doppelganger. But Genevieve quickly finds that substitutes are never as good as the real thing. Now, with a disastrous two-month marriage behind her, she's back in town and about to go after studly, hard-bodied contractor Wallace - the only man who's ever put the cream in her pie.

As his best friend's little sister, Genevieve has always been strictly off-limits to Wallace. Just one taste of gorgeous Gen, and he may have discovered the secret ingredient missing in all his serial dating.

But when Gen's ex-husband shows up in town with hopes to reconcile, Wallace's life is about to get turned upside down...

So, I probably enjoyed this book as much as I did because I love siblings’BFF stories and the fact that it was shorter in length. Gen and Wallace are good characters, but he’s a bit slow on the uptake sometimes, because he’s a caregiver of others…not looking out for himself. She’s honestly a little flighty…because who marries a guy that looks like your longtime crush, just because you think you can’t have the real thing? It was a different spin in the trope, so 3.75 from this reader.

Great next segment in the series, can be read as a stand-alone book. Wallace is doing a renovation for Genevieve but she can’t make up her mind about what she wants. The constant changes are driving Wallace nuts! Genevieve’s ex is coming to town but there seems to be some big secret surrounding him. Can Wallace stay sane while keeping an eye on her as a favor to his best friend? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Undying Love

I could feel the ache in Gen's heart over the seemingly unrequited love she has for Wallace. His misplaced responsibilities get in the way and it takes some blunt truths to get through to his heart and make him take action. I adore Gen's kindness and respect she shows to everyone she knows. Wallace is always in caretaker mode whether, it's with his family, his friends or his crew. He is caring and considerate but, keeps himself at arm's length...until Gen gets under his skin. Once again, the characters endear themselves and make it very difficult to put down the book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
