Book Synopsis

I was her first love, and I’m going to be her last…
On paper, I have it all—good looks, good friends, a killer business, and women throwing themselves at me from every corner of the globe. But I can’t get one woman out of my head.
Her. Adeline Klein, the sexy smart ass in wire-rimmed glasses and a polka-dot bikini, who stole my heart when we were teenagers.
God, she was something….
But I’m pretty sure she hates me. I’ve tried to find her, but it’s like she dropped off the face of the earth. Then one day there she is—stranded on the side of the road, waiting for rescue, like Fate has arranged for me to be her knight in shining armor all over again.
Only she would clearly prefer to kick me in the face.
But do I let that keep me from trying to win her heart? Or tagging along on what becomes a bona fide ghost hunt?
No way. Because some things—like sweet, wounded women with hearts of gold—are worth fighting for.

  • Too cute

This story was too cute. I loved the laugh out loud moments just as much as the panty melting ones. The story definitely had its moments that make you moist, but has a lot of relaxing but super comical moments as well. It's refreshing to read a rom com with intense sexual moments. Besides wishing the story was longer, I have no complaints. It was a joy getting to know Addie and Nates relationship history, then being able to get to know the adult characters and how their lives ended up. I hope they show up in another book, so I'm able to get an update on their lives.

Meant For You by Lili Valente is a standalone second chance romance told in dual POV between Nate and Adaline. While it does loosely follow on from other books in Lili's Magnificent Bastard Consulting non-series it, just like all the others, CAN be read as a standalone. I'm always so eager to dive into anything Lili has written I didn't even realize the tie in until a few chapters into the story and it was a pleasant surprise. Nate went on a ghost hunt the summer before college. Being in New Jersey and having just finished reading a horror story that was set there he just HAD to find the entrance to the Hell Mouth. Adaline, having read the same book, was at the hell mouth when he arrived and there story was forever intertwined with fate, and ghosts, ever since. This story was absolutely beautiful. Funny, witty, a little bit creepy, but just absolutely fabulous. There hasn't been anything Lili has written to date that I haven't absolutely loved so I'm not surprised, just very grateful to have been a part of Nate and Adaline's story, even if it was just while I was reading it.
  • Can fate bring them back together again?

Nate and Adeline's story started years ago when he was 18 and she was 16. Neither was what the other expected. Although Nate was the hot, popular jock and Adeline the awkward, smart nerd, their love for books and the stranger things in the world made them connect in a way even they were surprised. The summer they spent together was one neither would ever forget. The summer that they realized how much they cared and loved one another and finally finding who they were as individuals. The summer that also brought sorrow and heartbreak when Nate left Adeline behind, never looking back, breaking all his promises to her. Fast forward several years. Nate is writing, trying to make it big in the life he has always wanted. Adeline is miserable working for a cranky old woman who never has a nice thing to say. Far from the life and future she envisioned of having long ago. So when Adeline has finally had enough, and finally decides to put herself above all others, a nice extended trip to the snow covered mountains is where she heads to. What Adeline doesn't expect is her ex Nate to be the one to help her when her car leaves her stranded on the side of the road. Just when Adeline has started to get a grip on her life, Nate comes barreling back into it. Adeline wants nothing to do with Nate, fearing that the feelings that she has kept bottled up for so many years will resurface. Nate is determined to get her to listen to him and explain why he left her behind so many years ago. Fate brought them together so many years ago, can it bring them back together again? Meant For You is a second chance romance, and I am a sucker for those. This story line was a bit different from the other books in the Magnificent Bastard series, incorporating a little bit of supernatural, but I liked it a lot. As always, Lili Valente delivered a great story.
  • The Miracle of Two (there is nothing love can’t do) - 5+++++ billion stars!

A Review of Meant For You (A Sexy, Flirty, Dirty Romance - MBC) by Lili Valente The Miracle of Two (there is nothing love can’t do) - 5+++++ billion stars! How much do I love the writing of Lili Valente? Let me count the ways! This series has been one of the best, funniest and sexiest series to date. It's more fun and light hearted for the most part. And I love the way she ties the characters from previous books into new books. Each book can be thoroughly enjoyed as a stand alone, but if you start with the first one and read them in order, you will see characters follow through several books. In the last book, we met both Nate and Addie. Adeline (Addie) Klein is best friends with Shane since she lives on the 12th floor of the same building Shane and Jake live in. Shane did a one time job for MBC, assisting with Jake Falcone's image. Then she ended up married to Jake and pregnant. Addie is the paid companion to a wealthy old ogre named Eloise, who is not a very nice person and takes advantage of those who work for her. In the last book, Addie saw Nate in the park with Aidan (who also works for MBC), while she was with Shane, but she disappeared on Shane. Now that Shane is back from her honeymoon, Addie wants to make sure she doesn't say anything about her to Nate. Shane knows about Addie's summer affair with Nate in the past, but Shane is the type of person that will support her best friend, regardless of how other people think of Nate. When Nate originally met Addie seven years ago, she was just sixteen, but had just graduated from high school early. Knowing that she is a virgin, they take their time getting to know each other throughout that summer. She was heading to Rutgers in the fall and he was heading to Duke. They spend the summer sneaking away together, hiking to every haunted corner of New Jersey and then joining a rock-climbing group in Pennsylvania to an ancient burial ground, before they take the final plunge into a full sexual relationship. Arghhhh, there is soooo much that I want to talk about, but I don't want to give a report on the book itself and condense it down—you really need to read it for yourself to get all the 'feels' that Ms. Valente pours into this story. This story is about sooo much more than two teenagers falling into love and being separated by things beyond their control. The is a lot of mystery, ghosts, perverts, fate and even a time warp involved. There is also a lot of sadness in this book that will leave you with a broken heart, but Ms. Valente sews you back together, hopefully with a little more love and compassion for your fellow man. You really DON'T want to miss this book. It is one of those that will keep you thinking about it for a long time to come and make you happy that you read it. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down until the very end. **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**
  • I love Lili's second chance love stories!

Meant for You was awesome! This is the third in the Magnificent Bastard series, but can be read as a standalone. Nate and Addie fall in love one summer over their joint fascination of the supernatural out of New Jersey. But, things outside of their control have them losing touch…. Nate is in on the job with Magnificent Bastard Inc. with his “boyfriend” when the one that got away, Addie, appears out of the blue. Addie just needs to get away when Nate appears out of thin air, but oh goodness, how could she not have known that about him. Will Nate and Addie have a chance to understand what outside forces forced them apart? Will they survive the romantic getaway? Will the supernatural destroy their chances and/or help them reconnect? I love Lili’s second chance love stories!
  • Second Chance Love With A Twist

It's not attraction, not exactly, not that first morning. It's a spark, a flicker of recognition, a warning that things are about to change in ways I never could have imagined when I woke up in my bed that morning, so certain the path was mapped and the way was clear. And, so another love story begins... I'm a huge fan of Lili Valente, and have absolutely loved the romantic comedy series revolving around Magnificent Bastard Consulting. These books make me laugh, swoon, melt, and have introduced me to some of the Lili's most lovable characters ever. Addie Klein made her first appearance in INCREDIBLE YOU, the quirky, bookish friend of Shane Willoughby. When she ran for the hills at the sight of one Nate Casey, I knew that we would be seeing much more of the two of them. The backstory between Addie and Nate is endearing and a little bit offbeat, and exactly what I've come to expect from Lili. Although they're just kids, really, the link between the two is strong nonetheless, and I didn't doubt the depth of their feelings for a minute. But this wouldn't be a Lili story without a twist, without some turbulence and angst, so, that perfect summer love? Yeah, not so perfect. One of the things that I love the most about this story is Addie. Sure, Nate's smart, funny, successful, and determined, but Addie, seeing her stand up for herself and start taking charge of her life, just, heck yeah. As a big fan of strong women, this is what made my heart beat a little bit faster. And, honestly, that strength and spark are what make Addie, well, Addie, and what makes Nate love her as much as he does. MEANT FOR YOU is more than just a second-chance love story. It's also about friendship and finding oneself, with a strong dose of what I affectionately like to call "woo woo," because there is a definite paranormal bent to this story. But it all comes together so very nicely to give us one very wonderful read. Characters and dialogues are definitely some of Lili's strong suits, and, with this series, she's created one heck of a delightful little world. I love revisiting characters from earlier books in the series, and the text messages that abound are some of my favorite things, like, ever. It's really easy for me to give MEANT FOR YOU, as well as the rest of this sexily charming set, 5+ stars. Missing out on them would be a real shame.
  • One of my favorites by Lili!

Meant for You is a standalone novel but it also part of the Magnificent Bastard Consulting series. If you read the previous books then you might remember Adeline as Shane's neighbor in Incredible You. You also might remember the newest consultant named Nate. This is their story and it's one of my favorites from the series. Seven years ago Nate and Adeline had one crazy epic summer together. Nate was eighteen and Adeline was sixteen but it was everything to them. They weren't planning for future past the summer but things didn't go as planned. They fell hard. And then it was over. Nate walked away without looking back and Adeline was heartbroken. But, life went on. Kind of. They both never forgot about that summer of love. It changed them. Fate put them together that summer and now it has brought them back together. But will it be different this time? Addie couldn't do this. How was she going to spend five days in a lodge with the only man that she ever loved. The one that walked away. The one that broke her. She was a different girl that summer. She was confident, brace, wild, and felt beautiful. When it was over. That was over. She didn't go to college, she went to work for an old bat and drove her to appointments, read her the Times, and did batshit crazy errands. She felt stuck but what else could she do? She didn't know but she couldn't do it anymore. She needed to find herself again and that led her to the lodge with led her to him. Could he help her bring that girl back from that summer? She misses that girl. Nate can't believe they ended up here together. He wanted to explain to her what happened at the end of that summer. And from the moment he saw her again, he wanted to show her that they deserved a second chance. He is determined to prove it to her. He wasn't going to let her walk away. She was just as beautiful if not more beautiful now. She still had spunk but it was different. Their undeniable connection was still there. He could work with that. He just needed her to listen. Will he get her forgiveness? He all he has ever wanted since he walked away. I loved this book! The characters have a crazy and wild connection that I could feel through the pages. They really are meant to be. Addie might not think she is the most confident but is stronger than she knows. She just needed an added push. Nate is swoon worthy. For reals. He knows Addie deserves the best and that is what he wants to give her. He wants to make her feel beautiful. Wanted. Loved. But, of course they have their past to move on from. Nate isn't the only one that has some explaining to do. Overall...it's one of my favorite books written by Lili! It had everything. Humor, sexiness, sweetness, and emotion. Plus, the characters are total book nerds! There is also some unique twists that I didn't see coming. Awesomeness. P.S. The text messages are brilliant. Quotes: He belongs on the cover of Snobby European Skiing, Sex God Edition. The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. And you’ve always been my favorite mystery. “What is that? You got a brick in your pocket?” “No, I’m just happy to see you,” he says, making me laugh again, though a few minutes ago I was sure laughter had left the building.

Meant for You is the latest addition to Lili Valente’s fantastic Magnificent Bastard series. Once again she has delivered an amusing and entertaining story that will make you giggle not to mention some hot and sexy moments as well. Ms. Valente also surprisingly included a little bit of an unexpected supernatural twist which I must admit I really loved and it definitely set this story apart from the others. Nate and Addie’s amazing connection to each other was fantastic and despite misunderstandings and separation, fate seemed to always bring them back into one another’s arms. I really enjoyed the support characters as well as the comical banter they added to this story was fun and at times left me chuckling out loud. Meant for You is an enjoyable and excellent conclusion to this dazzling series and I am certainly going to miss Ms. Valente's Magnificent Bastard clan of outstanding characters and romance.
  • Chillingly awesome second chance love story

Wow! Just Wow! I freakin’ loved this book so much!! I just adore the Magnificent Bastard Consulting series and I wish it wouldn’t end. They are so funny, lighthearted and sexy while still having some deeper story line and Nate and Addie’s story is no exception. There was so much depth of character to our hero and heroine especially since they first met and bonded over a horror book and fell in love at ages 16 and 18. But after their one glorious summer together before college, they did not see each other again for 7 years. Fate steps in and brings them together again. We find out as they talk things out from their past, that significant events had transpired that neither of them ever knew about the other and I certainly didn’t expect either one. I really enjoy when there is some unpredictability thrown in to surprise me. Because we all know they will get their HEA but it is the journey to that point that really matters. This was a heck of a journey. Nate and Adeline aka Pretty Devil and Einstein are truly meant for each other. Such interesting things happen when they are together. This couple is so special and I love them together. They might just be my favorite from the series, which to me means that Lili saved the best for last. I felt a wide range of emotions reading this. Of course I laughed because, romantic comedy, but I also felt happy, I cried, swooned, got angry and yes even got the chills a few times. Especially loved those chilling times, just sooooo good! I am simply floored at how every single one of this author’s books is so incredibly awesome. 5 + stars again Lili Valente!!
  • Another 5 Star for Lili! Nate forever!

Meant for You is a standalone, but it's part of the Magnificent Bastard series. I love this series. So much! Lili Valente knows just what I need when I need to read it! She can always make me laugh, swoon, smile, get hot and bothered and in this case, get the chills! I loved that this story isn't her normal rom-com, but it has a different feel. Fate, destiny and yes, a little supernatural feel. I, of course, love a little paranormal in my romance, so I enjoyed this story! We've met Adaline before. She's a friend of Shane's and she's sweet and pretty, but she's sad. There's something from her past that haunts her and it’s not just Nate, her ex-boyfriend, the newest employee of Magnificent Bastard Consulting. Addie doesn't want to see Nate again. She hasn't forgotten the pain he caused when he vanished from her life years ago. When she finds herself in the same hotel as Nate, she can't avoid him. Nate can't believe it's really her. He never thought he's see her again and this time he isn't going to let her go. Walking away from her was the biggest mistake he's ever made and he's going to make her sit down and listen to him even if he has to kiss her into submission. A sled mishap and a freak snowstorm bring Addie and Nate together to face their past and their present. Does this mean there's a future for them too? I loved this story! Nate is totally swoon worthy with his sexiness and his determination. Addie is sassy and tougher than she ever thought she could be. This is a second chance romance that proves some people are just meant for each other. Fate, destiny and a little supernatural intervention are at work. You can try to ignore them, but they are stronger than you are so you just need to listen and pay attention! Other girls have made me want, but Addie is the first to make me ache.
