Empires Falling is an epic tale of the rise and fall of many empires as all involved fight for control of all the lands of their world. This first of five short stories will introduce you to a few of the characters that populate the three books that will tell the whole tale. In this story the Lord Regent, commonly known as the Hand, is trying to avoid become the third Hand in two years to be killed. One was poisoned, the second burned to death and now Lord Regent Halen along with his daughter and her personal potector are being hunted by creatures that only bare the appearance of wild dogs.
