This was a great read; I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are ever evolving, getting in trouble, and solving a very big problem from Evie’s past. Who knew small towns on the Bayou could have so much intrigue and danger. The sassiness and hardheaded shenanigans of Evie made her real, she had depth and dimension. I loved that the male & female leads realized they loved each other while trying to rescue her younger sister from blood thirsty killers…it was a story inside of a story. Coming to acceptance after dealing with murder, explosions, break ins, theft, betrayal, and broken hearts finally gave credence to their love. That type of love is real…enduring…eternal. Highly recommend this one…

I loved how it kept you wondering if the main characters would be able to have a relationship.

This was a great story to start the Hostile Operations Team series . Evie and Matt had a history that started when they were kids and best friends . Matt came from a rich family and Evie a girl from the wrong side of town . This book takes them through almost twenty years of their lives. So much happens it is a great time to start a wonderful new series . I know I’m going to enjoy them all.

What happens when a military special ops guy finds out his best friend from childhood is in trouble? Help her of course. Great suspenseful love story. Matt and Evie are great characters. Loved this book.
