Book Synopsis

When you control minds, only your heart can be used against you.
Eight months ago, Kira Moore revealed to the mindreading world that mindjackers like herself were hidden in their midst. Now she wonders if telling the truth was the right choice. As wild rumors spread, a powerful anti-jacker politician capitalizes on mindreaders’ fears and strips jackers of their rights. While some jackers flee to Jackertown—a slum rife with jackworkers who trade mind control favors for cash—Kira and her family hide from the readers who fear her and jackers who hate her. But when a jacker Clan member makes Kira’s boyfriend Raf collapse in her arms, Kira is forced to save the people she loves by facing the thing she fears most: FBI agent Kestrel and his experimental torture chamber for jackers.

Nice, clean read. Lots of action, some romance. Great sequel. Can't wait for final book. The story flowed and was easy to follow. There was adventure, romance, and challenges and difficulties to overcome. The characters' personalities were interesting. The plot had twists and turns. Few typos or mixed up grammar.

5 stars I love Closed Hearts- especially because Susan Kaye Quinn adds mire characters. It makes it even more interesting! Truly a perfect sidekick to Open Minds.

What a great continuation to book 1. There was action and adventure as both sides of Mindjacking hate Kira. Got to meet new people as Kira hid from everyone as best as she could. Fun to read and cannot wait for the next book.

In the second book in the Mindjack series, Kira's life is still way too complicated after moving from a zero to hero and then something to be feared. Old enemies return and new allies are formed as Kira once more plays the hero. A little bit of a sad ending that leaves hope for happier days in the continuing series. Not a standalone and should be read as part of the series.
  • A strong continuation of the series

This is a strong continuation of the series. What's interesting about it is that everything doesn't just come up roses after book one ended but rather the world continued in a sad but realistic way in reacting to Jackers and the consequences that follow. I love the way the author gets into the characters, his they are impacted by what happens to them and the world around them, and how they interact with each other. Well written and an excellent book, this is also (to me at least) clearly setting things up for book three. I can't wait to read it.
  • Fascinating

This book is well conceived and written. The idea that most people can read minds introduces lots of issues for the main character. I also appreciated the strong young female as the protagonist of this story.
