Book Synopsis

Years before they served together on board the U.S.S. EnterpriseTM, Commander William Riker and ship's counselor Deanna Troi had a tempestuous love affair on her home planet of Betazed. Now, their passions have cooled and they serve together as friends. Yet the memories of that time linger and Riker and Troi remain Imzadi - a powerful Betazoid term that describes the enduring bond they still share.
During delicate negotiations with an aggressive race called the Sindareen Deanna Troi mysteriously falls ill and dies. But her death is only the beginning of the adventure for Commander Riker, an adventure that will take him across time, pit him against one of his closest friends, and force him to choose between Starfleet's strictest rule and the one he calls Imzadi.

  • Disappointing Errors...

Well, I have loved the original Imzadi since it had originally come out years and years ago! At first I was confused as to what this book was, as I thought it was a continuation from Imzadi II but apparently it’s an updated edition of the first Imzadi book. Now I don’t have the first Imzadi book in an E-Book format, so I was curious as to how well it would turn out, and upon reading this one first I found MULTIPLE errors in spelling, word choices, and some punctuation too; and that was just in the sample! Since I have the original book to look back in to compare to, I was able to see that those errors were not in the original publication of the book. I have to say I am highly disappointed in the editorial team for this book. Peter David is an amazing author, and his work should not be treated so carelessly. This book NEEDS to be gone over with a fine tooth comb and the errors fixed and the E-Book updated to reflect these fixed. I would save your money until these are fixed. It’s one thing to read free stories with typos, spelling, and grammatical errors; it’s completely different when you are paying money for them. If I am going to spend my money on a book, be it a physical or digital book, then it shouldn’t have such errors.

If you're a TNG fan who enjoyed the Deanna/Riker relationship, and a touch of time travel, you'll absolutely love this book. I became so engrossed in it, I actually read it in one sitting. At times it had me gasping or yelling out loud, it was that well written. Up until this book, only movies or tv made me actually gasp or yell out. It's cleverly written in a non-linear style format that kept me hanging from start to finish.

This is my absolute most favorite love story ever, Riker and Troi. I cannot even begin to put into words the emotions this book creates. If you love TNG you should purchase right away. Definitely worth it. I even bought the audiobook because Frakes narrates, yeah he's bad at narrarating but it soothing and sometimes hilarious. But seriously read this book! It is amazing.
