Fall in love with one of the bestselling novels of all time -- the legendary love story that became a beloved film starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep.
If you've ever experienced the one true love of your life, a love that for some reason could never be, you will understand why readers all over the world are so moved by this small, unknown first novel that they became a publishing phenomenon and #1 bestseller. The story of Robert Kincaid, the photographer and free spirit searching for the covered bridges of Madison County, and Francesca Johnson, the farm wife waiting for the fulfillment of a girlhood dream, The Bridges of Madison County gives voice to the longings of men and women everywhere -- and shows us what it is to love and be loved so intensely that life is never the same again.

I dont understand why stories of “love at first sight” are so popular. I think the writing was good. I understand and could grasp some of the artistic mind aspect… but the lot of it to me came off so unrealistic that it was hard to grasp the depth that was trying to be portrayed.

I have been drawn in by this story and read it in one sitting. I truly feel, as a man, that there is some aspect I could reach within myself to have the soul of this man. If you are a married man, read this book and don't be upset by it but think about it. If you are not married, read this book and ponder it.

Thoughtful and honest. Many live a lifetime speaking of love. A few are fortunate enough to find it if only for a moment. Take a moment to read this tender story of a selfless and eternal love that was simply magical.

A well crafted novella with very few flaws, lucent prose and well developed characters, clearly this is one of the best works from the later half of the 20th century.
