There is considerable confusion today what pastors can and cannot say from the pulpit. Christian values are attacked, literally, every hour of the day. Timid men of the cloth take the easy way out. Pastors and Priests refuse to acknowledge touchstone issues from the pulpit and Deacons shrink in cowardice from their responsibilities. Even when the political speak content is clearly in disobedience to the truths and morality of our biblical foundations.
Social issues have become politicized. Church leaders avoid controversy. They don't address Biblical principles contrary to prevailing politically biased speak (BS) out of fear of who in their flock they might offend. By the way, I prefer not to use the term PC as it infers "Politically Correct" which is a deliberate misnomer. I use the term BS in lieu of PC.
Did Jesus fear offending the money changes and merchants at the Temple? Churches need to lead in developing activist citizens in our communities consistent with Biblical beliefs. What will you do?
