This book was amazing. I could not stop reading it. I just couldn’t put it down so it’s definitely a must read.

The book is well written. But, be aware, it describes the Depression and the Dust Bowl in the Grapes of Wrath fashion. It is a well written story about a very difficult life. It was a more depressing book than I was hoping for.

Such a wonderfully written novel

Wonderful read! Learned a lot about the American tragedy that was the “Dust Bowl”.

This author brings to life, the full experience of what it was like to live during the depression and years of the great dust bowl. The horrors that average human beans had to experience just to make it from one day to the next. How fellow Americans were treated as they traveled from one state to the next to survive. This book is relevant to today and the controversy as to how America should deal with the foreign immigration problem.

I found myself enjoying this book but not being obsessed as I read. It’s a great story that once you finish really pulls everything together in an amazing, emotional way.

A book full of rainbows, flowers and kittens when it’s a historical fiction novel that takes place during the Great Depression? It’s going to be depressing. Period. I personally appreciated gaining more knowledge of the time era. That said I’m going to issue a spoiler warning. Several reviews on here include major spoilers. Including the ending. And the main reason I’m writing a review is to warn future readers of it. I know I didn’t appreciate the end being ruined for me.

Another excellent read by Kristen Hannah. Never wanted to put it down. Extremely engaging. The resilience and strength of main character is incredible.

Gripping tale of survival at the most basic level. Love and courage and fight for humanity are all messages here.
