Cyrus Townsend Brady places us in scenarios set during the festive season, and tells brief but thought-provoking stories with the aim of reminding readers that Jesus Christ's life and message are what should be remembered at Christmas time. 
Each story examines the meaning of Christmas through different kinds of people and their lives. Some have a darker or frightening tone - 'The Workmen' for instance is about a conspiracy between robbers to take jewels from a wealthy home. All of these stories however carry a moral tone and lesson, in keeping with the festive theme of goodwill, giving and charity between humankind. 
In all, we find here a collection of stories that call upon us all to remember the true virtues of Christmas, as rooted in the age-old traditions of Christianity.
