Emma is newly divorced from her abusive husband, who's currently sitting in jail on attempted murder charges while she's trying to start over. Unfortunately her ex-brother-in-laws and the rest of her ex's family think everything is her fault. They keep causing her to lose every job she's started since getting away from her Leroy, so she's had to move back in with her father. Emma runs into Cash Walker when she has to return Clyde their runaway goat, who she remembers having a crush on him in high school. He offers to help her get a a job where he knows Junior and Earl won't bother her. Something in her gut told her she could trust him. Cash Walker is the first guy in a long time that hadn’t turned her stomach, instead he’d caused flickers of desire to sputter to life inside her. At least she’d thought it was desire. It had been so long since she’d felt any sort of attraction to a man that she wasn’t sure she really recognize'd the signs. It could have been hunger pains or gas or all she remembers. While helping an ewe in labor, Cash the lead ranch hand on Tucked Away farm hears Emma's car pull in, he heads out to help her because the stubborn bull has blocked the driveway again. However she doesn't need any help, by honking her horn and hollering at him the ornery bull moves out of the way. She then surprises him again when she jumps into the pen with the laboring ewe to remove the membrane from the baby lambs face so it could breathe. She mentioned needing to find a job where the boys couldn't harass her and get her fired, he knew just the job for her! He also knew she was skittish because of the abuse she'd dealt with from her ex, so he didn't try to lay on the normal charm he used with women. He knew she was like a scared animal, but something about her tugged at his heart. Her grin caused a couple dozen butterflies to flutter in his stomach, and his heart warmed at the small victory of earning even a tiny smile. What is it about this woman that caused his hands to sweat and his heart to pound a little harder? No woman had ever captured Cash's elusive heart, so within 30 minutes in, quiet almost painfully shy Emma's presence did it feel like a vise was around his heart? **A nice, sweet woman who had no business hanging out with the likes of him, and who he had no business getting involved with. How far will Leroy's brothers go to antagonize her? Although this is book 3 of the Heart of Montana series, it's the first one that I've read. It could be read as a standalone, but I'm going to read the first two to see what I missed with the other characters. I loved it, It's a very well written heartfelt emotional story. FAVORITE PASSAGE: ~“I’ll show you a trick my mom taught me. This was a great read with a very hard subject matter. Emma was abused by her husband and after he goes to jail, Emma tries to get her life back except her brothers-in-laws won't let her. They harass her every time she tries to begin again and stand on her own. In steps Cash Walker, HOT cowboy with problems of his own. But, he takes Emma under his wings and tries to help her build her self confidence, meanwhile falling in love with her. Loved this story!! It was heartfelt and sexy and with a lot of internal conflict going on. I was of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Hearts of Montana series and it is definitely one of my favorites. It's a very emotional story that will touch your heart immediately. With exceptional storytelling and character development Jennie Marts will keep you glued to the pages of this one. With all that Emma and Cash go through, you just know that have to get their HEA!! After escaping an abusive relationship, newly divorced Emma Frank comes home to Broken Falls. Her husband is in jail but his brothers are determined to make sure Emma has no peace. Then she meets Cash Walker. He's a smooth talking charmer but he knows right away that Emma has a wounded soul and what she needs right now is a friend. Cash has enough demons of his own to understand. Just friends. That's all they can be. Protecting Emma from her crazy past is what's important and Cash will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even if he loses his heart in the process. This is definitely a book I recommend!
