Unlike the Sunni Muslim world, which has been very divided during the energy war that was given the code name “Arab Spring”, the Shia Muslims have been relatively united.
But recently there are signs of cracks in the Shia camp too. Many Shia Muslims of Iraq are calling for a normalization with the Sunni world, and a breaking of ties with Iran, which is the main Shia power of the Muslim world.
This essay examines the main factors that cause the cracks in the Shia camp.
