«Charles Alexander Eastman (19 February 1858 – 8 January 1939) was Santee Dakota writer, national lecturer, physician, and reformer. He was "one of the most prolific authors and speakers on Sioux ethnohistory and American Indian affairs." He is considered the first Native American author to write American history from the Native American point of view.
