Marguerite de Navarre (Apr 1492 – 21 Dec 1549), was the French princess and Queen of Navarre. She was a wife of Henry the Second of Navarre. She was a patron of humanistic and reformation movements and a significant figure of the Renaissance in France. Also she was a known author of short stories, poetry and plays.
The Tales of Heptameron is a collection of 72 short stories by Marguerite de Navarre. The stories are told by a group of writers that have to stay together in an abbey for several days due to raging nature and other circumstances and have nothing else to do than to tell stories to each other.
