This addition to the series was not my cup of tea. I must say that Meyer's book became less and less interesting to me as the series progressed and this one followed suit. They weren't all bad, but considering how I enjoy a good back story, I thought I'd like them more. My least favorite was "The Princess and the Guard". I simply don't like Winter. I think she's a weak character and a weak personality. It seemed to me that Meyer tried to make her too sympathetic and wound up making her, well, weak. I get the whole stand against using her gift, but felt the stand could've been something more productive and clever than going loony because she doesn't use her gift. In " The Princess and the Guard", again, Winter had no strength of mind or character and her romantic feelings toward Jacin made me want to vomit. Everything about her is so cliche and to me, that doesn't make for good story. I made it maybe halfway through the story before skipping to the next. It didn't hold my attention whatsoever and I only got that far because I always try to stick it out. I think the strongest story was "The Little Android". I really enjoyed seeing Meyer's take on "The Little Mermaid" and was especially pleased that she stuck with the original story rather than the Disney version (not that there's anything wrong with that one, it's just the general public don't often get to see the original versions). She really is quite creative and that is something I will always respect.

  • A little bit of closure

I wanted just a little bit more after the last book ended and this book of stories gave me the closure I was looking for. This is a book of short stories that feels a lot like portions of the book that might have been edited out or more back story to characters that you would have otherwise not seen. It took me a little longer to get through this book bc I knew the series was already over so what more could you really add but I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth the read if you read the rest of the series.
  • This is worth EVERY cent and univ. (That was said too calmly for reality)

Ok. I am the biggest fan on the face of this Earth and my love could power the Rampion to fly to Luna and back thousand times. I am trying to stay calm and plainly state my feelings but thisisnearlyimpossible. If you don't think that this is worth reading, let's plan to meet on the edge of a cliff someday. I'll be standing right behind you. You get to meet every character in every lovable, sob-worthy way. You get to see Jacin cry. That broke my heart. You meet Iko for the first time. And how Carswell was always an adorable little cinnamon roll from the start. Somebody gets married in the best way possible. Ze'ev's story was so sad. Pure sadness. When I found out this book was going to be made, I almost passed out. Not exaggerating. There were stars. This book is worth every cent. It takes all my willpower to write this calm review because my soul is slowly denigrating because of how hard it is to keep my fan-girly things out of this. OH, MY STARS. THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER MADE. I AM IN LOVE WITH JACIN AND IS GOING TO MARRY HIM SOMDAY AND I DON'T CARE THAT HE IS MADE OF INK AND SUNSHINE AND STARDUST AND LOVE. You have GOT TO BUY THIS BOOK NO MATTER WHAT. MARISSA MEYER, IF YOUR READING THIS, YOUR THE BEST. AGGGGGGG!

This book was amazing, with its advanced plot and lovable characters. The book draws you in and never lets you go to the very end!!! The ending was predictable but happy in all the right way's!!! The chapters intertwined nicely with the rest of the series... I only thing that stinks is that Throne isn't real!!!💔... Or wolf!!!!! Or pretty much everyone in the book!!! Except for Levana...

Ok, so there were some parts that u thought were boring, or related to the story. But it met to a point in the end. I loved this book, and the rest of the series, I've read the series like...6 times. It's by far out of this world. I hope you will read cinder first if you haven't, then scarlet, the cress, fairest if you want to, the winter. For stars above it was wonderful and stars I wish Marissa meyer will right about something special. If you've read the book you'll know what I'm talking about. But besides the point I HIGHLY suggest you buy this book❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️forever Kai and cinder
