Book Synopsis

Matt Blackwell loves acting in the theatre. At least he used to. Though for years the passion and art of the stage inspired and moved him, it has begun to lose its shine in his eyes. In fact, he hasn't been in a play for more than two years. Such a hiatus would have once been unbearable to Matt, but now he plans to make it permanent.

All that changes when a friend of his begs him to join her troubled summer production at the local community theatre. Reluctant at first, Matt agrees, for her sake...and regrets it almost as soon as he starts rehearsing.

Production delays, low budgets, prying bureaucrats and uncommitted actors make the entire affair quite the slog for a while. And that's before all the odd encounters, strange coincidences and other seemingly supernatural things happen in and around the tiny playhouse. Some notice, and some do not. Matt notices, all right, and he isn't sure what it all means. The only thing he is certain about is that this is no ordinary summer for anyone at the playhouse.
