Wow what a story line that draws you from the beginning. Left hanging and I’m climbing as fast as I can to read book 2.
  • Wow. Just wow.

I was like the others... jaded reader. This book was thoughtful and intense and sensual. Great book.

This is one of those books that I will not tell you what it is about. I went in not knowing anything about the story line and I'm so glad I did. There are just some books you gotta just dive in and this is one of them. What you do need to know is that it's dark, the heroine is in a pretty twisted situation and I don't even know who the true Hero is in the story. It is not a safe read and not for the faint of heart. I gave this 5 stars because I was just enthralled with what was happening and was trying to figure out what the true story is, all the while hating some of the things happening. I didn't figure it out and I'm not even happy with how it ended, yet the author sucked me in! It is not a standalone and part of me is scared with how book 2 might end, but you can bet I will be reading it. ARC provided by NetGalley.

I love the way JW writes. She grabs you at the first page and you just hang on for the ride. No matter how bizarre the plot she makes you believe. I can't wait for the ending, yet I put it down because I don't want it to be over. That being said, next time I'll check before purchasing a book of hers. I'm an all or nothing kind of reader and I HATE cliffhangers!

I read this in its entirety within a few hours. For a "jaded" reader this was quite the novelty. Very little was proposed or even alluded to. Full of feints and proprietary (j'adore). Realize this is a trilogy- I liked the teaser for the second at the end of this one. While I do enjoy a little tease I do expect an bit more explanation in Books 2-3.

Could not put this book down. The mystery keeps unfolding yet increasing right to the end. I'm intrigued by the characters and how they developed in their relationship to each other. Also, I love Jacinda's writing style - capturing the emotions of a held breath, a second that lasts forever against time. Now I'm anxious to spend another sleepless night reading the next one in the series. CloudlessNight
