Ms Hoyt never fails in her story telling. Suspense, angst, tenderness, a little tragedy and always love and healing. I loved the main characters and the supporting cast as well. Well written, the pace of the story and love affair make sense. I love the big strong hero who is soft and thoughtful of their heroine and her fears. I loved the heroine for having courage even though she had real and legitimate reasons to just be afraid and live within the confines of that fear. And the fights between the two of them. We only see a few of the past Maiden Lane characters as they relate to Asa's family, but it's enough of a wink to the rest of the series for me. It has become so much more than just about the Ghost of St. Giles.
