  • CEMENT IS A POWDER

My family has been in the concrete business for over 40 years. Cement is a powder that is mixed with sand, water, and aggregates to create concrete. The formula varies, but the final product is a very thick gravy-like mixture that hardens to create sidewalks, floors, walls… Falling into a cement wall would cause a little harm. Falling into a concrete wall would have a different outcome.

The author’s writing style is much appreciated. She’s obviously not a dabbler, but a seasoned professional who knows her way around the keyboard. The story has meat to it and is engrossing. The musical details are unusual and are a lovely bonus.

I don't know how some crappy books get great reviews when they don't deserve it. Im almost certain that people get free ARC books if they keep writing great reviews and I'm sick of it. Fear not with this book, I'm actually aggravated I found this by accident and not on any of the multiple lists I googled. I read about 3 romance books a week and this is in the top 5 %. The cover would be my only complaint. It's not at all who I envision while reading these books. Please don't let that stop you. *** UPDATE** 9/13/2017 I'm so happy to see a new cover, this is exactly what I'd hoped for!

This is not the typical romance novel. It's also confusing from the start. I think they were going for mystery but it only ends up confusing.

Every Breath You Take was an absolutely stunning and creatively passionate exploration of two lost and lonely people finding the missing part of their heart and soul in each other. What a breathtaking journey filled with unwanted hope, unwavering love, and unexpected devotion! This series is continuing with such a brilliant depth of heart and soul that I just can’t get enough of. I am definitely looking forward to more of these ground-breaking stories if they are anything like this one. Georgie is invited to the wedding of a very dear friend and then shocked when asked to play an impromptu performance with a complete stranger. His name is Alexandre de Valentinois, and he turns out to be her savior in more than one way. His insistent yet tender manner helps to calm her nerves and rejuvenate her love of music. She knows she can’t afford to get involved with anyone and yet there is something about him that calls to her like no other. The easy way in which he stokes the long frozen coals of her passion for music feels like forbidden magic and unimaginable bliss to her soul. Alexandre has his own dark secrets just like Georgie, but could his secrets put her life in even more danger? What are they each willing to sacrifice to follow their heart, and will they find what they need the most before it’s too late? I was utterly mesmerized by these two beautifully unique and amazing characters that brought out the best in each other. The held no expectations for each other, but even still, they managed to weave life and hope in the other’s soul. Their meeting may have seemed like an accident, but when fate brings together two hearts, nothing can get its way. No matter how much Georgie tried to rationalize how she felt towards Alexandre, she couldn’t deny how much he was quickly becoming a very good and important part of her life and her heart refused to let him go easily. The light, inspiration, and passion that Georgia brought into Alexandre’s life was not something he wanted to life without, and he made his intentions very well known to her. We need to come to a place in our lives where taking a risk in the name of love and life is necessary even if there is no way to justify it. Love cannot be justified, and it also cannot be lived without. Blair Babylon surprised me with the first book in this series starring Rhianna, and she took my breath away with Alexandre’s story. We came to see a very different and incredibly unforgettable side of the lead singer Xan. This story couldn’t have been more perfect, and I can’t wait to see whose story she writes about next! I am definitely becoming a fan of Blair and her unbelievable writing talent. She packs so much heart and soul into each story that she writes, and her talents only continue to improve with each new and brilliant story she creates.

I have been patiently waiting for Georgie's story to be told and man, was I excited to find out that Xan was going to be a part of it. This way, I got more of both series/characters. There were hints in previous books that Xan was "more" than what he appeared to be and we finally learn what that something is. However, there are still things that I want to know about him, so I hope that information comes out in the next book. We also learn more about Georgie and how she knew Wulf's sister and how much he actually knew about her when he hired her to work at The Devilhouse. I love the way Blair has woven all of these stories together and we actually get to see what happened to certain characters during the same situation that we read about in other books (for example, in this book, we are back at the civil marriage of Wulf and Rae and leaving to go to the dinner when gunshots disrupt the process), which basically gives us an insight to what each character was feeling or thinking during the same timeframe. I absolutely LOVE Blair's writing and look forward to the next book to be released. There is so much more that I want to know about Xan and Georgie. You definitely want to read this series, but you can actually read this book as a stand alone and not be lost. Just be aware that there is a cliffhanger here. I'm sure that it will all be worth it in the end. **Complimentary Copy provided by Author for an honest review.**
