While preparing for a flight to vegas I decided to take a chance on a novel titled the "The Rosie Project". The description intrigued me and I got it for a steal on my iPad...so why not take a chance on new writer that had won a few awards in Australia. I found myself laughing out loud on the plane ride and explaining to fellow passengers what I was reading. Two purchased the book during a layover. When I saw the sequel come out, I couldn't wait to read it. Graeme has an amazing quality as a writer to make the characters come alive; you can't help but cheer on Don Tillman as he continues to evolve as a high functioning autistic Professor in the world of ordinary humans. This book has it all: I cried, I laughed...I hugged my wife a little tighter. If you are looking for a great read that will evoke true emotional connection...then this is the book for you. "The Rosie Effect" will definitely have you cheering on Don and Rosie as they continue to grow in their relationship...Enjoy!

If you liked the first book this is worth reading but it's quite a step down from the first book. Rosie is often hard to recognise. Don is Don but the situations aren't quite as interesting or funny as in the first book. There are a few fabulous laugh out loud moments, but the first book had many of those.
  • Not as upbeat as The Rosie Project

I loved the Rosie Project and was hoping the sequel would be another funny, feel-good story but it wasn't at all like the first book. Rosie seems like a different character from the very beginning and it quickly becomes hard to believe she ever truly loved Don. While the book still had it's high points, most of it was kind of depressing and full of misunderstandings and miscommunications. Don's character is still lovable and I enjoyed reading about his adventures with his friends. I just wish there had been more happy stories about him and Rosie.
