Insightful, interesting, fly on a wall insight into Jackie Kennedy and how she'd managed her life. Kind of bizarre really, I found it sad Jackie K didn't really connect in a personal way with so many people that went above and beyond to help her. I'm sure they all found rewards along their life for being good people. Jackie Kennedy was very educated, polished, and had a sharp eye for excellence.... But her people skills were very underdeveloped.

I've owned an old library copy since the 1990's so I was happy to find an online version of this book. It's a great read if you want a fascinating and intimate first-hand account of Jackie's day to day life at The White House, Hyannis Port and Palm Beach. Mary provides an interesting look at the infamous couple and how they ran their lives in the 1960's, how they treated their staff and other family members, raised their children, how Jackie shopped, entertained, travelled, planned, organized her life, and how she dealt with the death of her baby and with aftermath of the assassination of her husband. Mary was with the Kennedys in Dallas that day, and it's interesting to read her very personal account of the events as they unfolded on the day and in the days leading up to November 22. 1963. Highly recommended.
