A beautiful and fascinating story! Told by someone who had to spend been quite a bit of time in this area of Mexico in order to give it the truth that it speaks.

As I read this vivid portrayal of life in a Mexico city, the people, the mountain, the schoolhouse, the drug-traffickers SUVs, the red & black ants and clear scorpions were ALL so very real to me. The language is poetic and heartwarming. And true! Ladydi's mother is everyone's mother. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I will miss the cast of characters.
