À la suite d'une catastrophe mondiale les pays les plus développés sont envahis par des hordes de zombies cannibales. Seules quelques enclaves subsistent, en Somalie notamment. À la recherche d'un remède au virus, un groupe d'adolescentes surarmées, menées par un vétéran, se rend à New York. Tous se croient préparés au pire.
