This is a terribly shallow book. I have every book in the Fargo series and the first three were written by Grant Blackwood and those had depth, character and great plots....this Thomas Perry is taking a free ride on Clive Cussler. Don't waste your money!

First 3/4 of book was fantastic. Last 1/4 felt like the author was trying to finish quickly. Wish the finish had more detail.

Only a little pun intended. This is another strong vehicle in the Fargo series. This series is not like either the NUMA nor the Dirk Pitt novels. It IS just as great a pager turner. Issues tend to be more attuned to the social & moral problems found in modern times. All of which are descended from a real event in history. Cussler uses wonderful research with which he places his entertaining imaginary frogs in some very real and also in some very imaginative gardens.

I almost wanted to give it 5 stars! I really enjoyed the book, but it had its problems. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I would still recomend this book to anyone!

I've been a huge fan of Clive Cussler's books, but this one was such a disappointment! What could have been a gripping story (who doesn't love Mayan treasure?) turned out to be stilted, poorly written and well, just boring.
  • This isn't Cussler's writing

Having become a literary success, Cussler is now apparently farming out his books to be written by elementary school children. "The Mayan Secrets" is a waste of time and money for anyone who enjoyed his early works. Very disappointing.
