I'm frustrated with this series by this point. - her brother joins when they meet grandma, but nothing about his leaving. I have to figure it is it on my own that he left earlier. - after pages of saying how weak & skeletal she is, she sees her BFF who doesn't even notice it. - solider wakes them up from their tents & they leave with them, no mention of them breaking down the tents. It may sound trite, but I shouldn't even have to notice this. - the big battle they've been waiting for starts, yet a sudden decision to lead the army leaves her needing ppl to measure her for armor (after so much training). Her family, who are very powerful fire witches also have no plan & instead of working together with fire magic, are fighting separately with swords. This should have been a better battle scene. Battle planning at the very least. Earlier books also have the same faults. I'm a fantasy book fan, can be very forgiving, but there are too many shortcuts going on in this series. It's rare I get this frustrated reading a book. Most books I read are longer than this. The little extra time ( and typing) it would have taken to clean things up would have made this book more seamless.
