Book Synopsis

The old radio at the station had poured out haunting images of a dying world from the first day. Through it, the tiny group hunkered down at the Village of Portsmouth, bore witness to the death of millions. Where the sickness left off, storms and brutal emotions took over. Some fought. Some starved. Others simply disappeared.

Storms ravaged the power grids. Relief efforts died before they ever started. Entire countries collapsed.

Like the rest of the world, the people stranded on Portsmouth Island could only wait and hope. When it came, the disease struck hard, killing one and sending another into a violent rage.

Hounded by an evil he didn't understand, William Hill struggled to survive.

The evil had other plans. It wanted his blood.

This time, it had a face. This time, it offered a deal

I read all the time...maybe 3-5 books a week. This was one of the best books I have read in a long time! There was never a time that I got bored with it. I'm a fan of some of the "big" writers; James Patterson, Stephen King, John Saul, etc., so when I say this is one of the best books I've read in a while...well, you get the picture! Great job! Can't wait to read The Rock!

I have read a lot sci-fi and fantasy!Tthis is a very promising author!!A. Clarke could drag down into the details a little too much for my taste sometimes, this author did also, at the beginning of his first book! But he got better!! The dialog seems real, the words are spelled correctly!!!.I hate trying to read a book written in disconnected , word drivel!! Yeah for this series! Read this author and enjoy!! These books are worth buying

One of the better books I've found on iBooks. A few chapters end abruptly leaving the beginning of the next a big question mark. Looks like rushed editing or bad formatting. Was turned off by demons (I just don't like the genre's conventions) and moral dichotomy but stayed for characters.
  • Definitely a must read!

I blew through the entire series in about a week's time! What an amazing tale of good and evil. The story kept me riveted and craving more from this author. Don't sleep on Michael Stark.

Great story in the first books. Last chapter was a let down to the whole story. I would have charged for first two and given away the last ones. Not a great ending by far it could have been much better as we're the first few books of the island!
  • First rate story!

Wow. This is too good to be true (a little pun on fiction there). Seriously, this entire series is truly marvelous. What a writer and what a storyline. The realism and humanism make me feel like its happening in my own back yard. The fantasy is believable because there are no impossible human feats, credulous hypothesis, or a morass of he-man chest-thumping. Love it!
