The message is utterly destructive to self life. It points us to our real Life in Christ.

While admittedly the first book by brother T. Austin-Sparks I have read, this book blessed me the most of any other I have read (or even any other sermon I have listened to). It was a tremendous means of grace in my life. I recommend every born again child of God read and meditate on it.

"Of all the books that have issued from this ministry, I regard this one as that which goes most deeply to the roots and foundations of our life in Christ with God." - I agree with the author wholeheartedly! A friend loaned me a copy of this book 6 months ago, and I've been reading T. Austin-Sparks ever since. This is still the book I would start anyone out on. To find such a deep well of spiritual insight from a contemporary of C.S. Lewis, and Watchman Nee (who T.A.S. met), I am very thankful for, especially since all of his books and writings are available for free. Occasionally, you may find his writing too "academic" (i.e. difficult to find any possible application in your life), but press on. The next page may be a deep nugget of gold for your Christian walk.
