I have read other Jane Austin books, and I have loved them, I like her writing style and the stories she portrays, but I got bored with this book and honestly I could not finish it.
  • Not as good as Pride & Prejudice

Took me a while to get through because there were several boring parts... did not end how I expected it, so that was interesting, but still not as enchanting as P&P.

Exciting, interesting. But also very plausible and provides more insight into the character of the villains.

This book really held my interest, and I became especially intrigued when I learned that Willoughby and Edward were double players. An excellent read.
  • Very Happy with the Ending!

I’m so glad that they triumphed through so many hardships to get what they deserved. I observe Marianne as one who was too finicky to truly deserve anything, but I think through her elder sister’s experience and behaviour, how to act accordingly, and Elinor finally got to show some real sensitivity when speaking to her sister’s former suitor. This book brought upon me many feelings of poignancy but at the same time bliss for the happiness of the characters.
  • Complaining

Most of the book was spent reading about all the complaints of the main characters. I listen to enough complaints in my life without having to read about it for most of the book.

I did grasp the concept of keeping emotions in check (having good social sense) and behaving in a way in private so that futures could have a chance (sensibility). I enjoyed the book and the idea of romance and future life being a dominant feature of a young lady’s life. However, the characters of Willoughby and Robert were somewhat cloaked in mystery to me. Willoughby’s painful explanation to Elinor toward the end of the book of his poor treatment of her sister Marianne did not seem plausible. And certainly Robert rushing and marrying Lucy after his brother was ostracized from the family for being engaged to Lucy is unexplainable. But, those are the ways of love and marriage. It was good to see Elinor happily married to her Edward, and Marianne to Colonel Brandon.
