Paulsen's ability to bring the reader to the action and feel the emotion of the story is unbelievable!

Welllll this book was stoopid and dum like we read it in class and it was just like guts flying everywhere and people gettin decapitated and when Charlie "died" i really didnt care i just wanted to go home and get starbucks

I haven't read this book but I read the sample and I just looks amazing. I am really into historical fiction books along with history so this book looks really good.

so I read this book in school and i thought it was just another book that the teacher was giving us that i would never actually read and we all know we don't always read the books they give us. It turned out to be a great read and really showed what the war in the eyes of the young men that fought in the civil war

It is the 2 best book I have ever read in my life first Is hatchet

A heart felt story<3

This story of a young union soldier is beautiful in all its glorious gory details. To think that any human being would ask another to fight like that is despicable. It is amazing that somehow we believe that we are any different from the Romans, the Nazis, or wild animals. We are not. Blessed are the peacemakers, for with their blood we shall paint the landscape of humanity.

It was an awesome book through and through, kept you on your toes. I absolutely loved it!!!
