This is a very informative and helpful book

Dr. Shaywitz bridges the divide between the language of science and the language of parents. Don't let your child with dyslexia struggle, fail, and feel stupid. This book explains the responsible science on effective reading instruction. Be your child's advocate and your child WILL learn to read well. Don't let anyone, including a teacher, convince you to "wait and see." The ideal time to intervene is age 4 or 5. Get going!
