The acclaimed author of Love Lettering weaves a wise and witty new novel that echoes with timely questions about love, career, reconciling with the past, and finding your path while knowing your true worth.

Longtime personal assistant Georgie Mulcahy has made a career out of putting others before herself. When an unexpected upheaval sends her away from her hectic job in L.A. and back to her hometown, Georgie must confront an uncomfortable truth: her own wants and needs have always been a disconcertingly blank page.

But then Georgie comes across a forgotten artifact—a “friendfic” diary she wrote as a teenager, filled with possibilities she once imagined. To an overwhelmed Georgie, the diary’s simple, small-scale ideas are a lifeline—a guidebook for getting started on a new path.

Georgie’s plans hit a snag when she comes face to face with an unexpected roommate—Levi Fanning, onetime town troublemaker and current town hermit. But this quiet, grouchy man is more than just his reputation, and he offers to help Georgie with her quest. As the two make their way through her wishlist, Georgie begins to realize that what she truly wants might not be in the pages of her diary after all, but right by her side—if only they can both find a way to let go of the pasts that hold them back.

Honest and deeply emotional, Georgie, All Along is a smart, tender must-read for everyone who’s ever wondered about the life that got away . . .

This book is so good. The character development! The romance! The good doggo! The protagonists learning to figure things out on their own before figuring things out together! *chef’s kiss*

Okay I’m not even done with this book, super close, but I had to coke rate five stars because I’m just laying here crying reading it!!! I’m usually more of a enemies to lovers slow burn kinda girl, but this book is so full and so good. I don’t even have the words for it. The character development is superb and the healing that the characters go through is just beautiful. This freaking book. Read it.

Georgie Mulcahy returns home to help her best friend and to figure out her next chapter in life. She does not want to encounter townies her first day back, especially gruff ones who pay for her strawberry milkshakes in Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn! I love how Georgie and Levi Fanning came to be in close proximity after their meet-cute in her less than cute attire! The mix-up is exactly what he needs to start opening doors to heal. Levi is swoon-worthy! The way his treats his rescue dog is admirable. He may be anti-social and quiet, but I love that Georgie will always lovingly tease him about his choice of social media. You will want to hug him fiercely when he reveals the biggest hurt he does not share. I love Georgie’s relatable character! She represents a time when we feel insecure and lost however we need to keep moving and trying while pieces fit together. I am glad her curveball brought her good times with her best friend and another partner in crime to fulfill updated goals from the “friend fic” notebook. My greatest take-away is that being an odd ball does not mean we are less! Some can be seen as put together according to social norms however our perspective may be different from the truth. If you enjoy close proximity, found family, redemption, self-reflection, and tear jerker stories, then this book is for you!! You will definitely have sudden laugh out loud moments!! Thank you to Net Galley and Kensington Books for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Georgie is coming back to her childhood hometown after leaving for California where she was a PA to a very successful director and Hollywood celebrity. Confused about what she’s to do with her future, haunted by the past in the town, feelings of insecurities of who’d she’d been as a teenager and her inability to figure out what’s next in her life. After helping her lifelong best friend settle into her new home, back in their hometown as well, she’s everything that Georgie isn’t. She’s structured, a planner, successful in every goal and dream she’s ever had for herself. Now, heavily pregnant and struggling with her drastic move back to a country setting and working part time from home, she’s dependent upon Georgie to help her finish last minute touches on decorating organizing and preparing for her newest arrival. While Georgia is staying at her parents home, while they’ve been on a RV road trip, she meets another hometown person who happens to be the older brother of her childhood crush. Levi, who’s made an arrangement with Georgie’s hippy, laid back parents to watch over their home and their beloved gardens and plants walks into the home unexpectedly and unbeknownst to Georgie that they’d both been offered the same opportunity to stay in the home of her parents. An awkward meeting, a serendipitous misunderstanding between her parents and their overlapping of houseguests, it’s soon clear to both Georgie and Levi that there’s a very strong undercurrent between them, so surprising and yet unsettling although comfortable all the same. When they finally do begin becoming closer, both of them having pasts in their town of which make them both feel so insecure and uncomfortable they bond strongly over these similarities and soon they’re falling in love. How it all begins, the walls they are letting go of around themselves and where they end up is quite lovely. Adorable story.

A well told and satisfying story that will have you turning the pages as you cheer on Georgie! When you are forced to start over, maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. This is how it was for Georgie. Georgie was forced to move back home when her job in L.A. as a personnel assistant to a famed screenwriter and director abruptly ended. Georgie moves back to her hometown in Virginia to live in her parent’s house while they are on vacation. Little did she know her parents had arranged for Levi Fanning to take care of their house as well, so her peace and quiet she was hoping for goes out the window. Her best friend Bel who is married and pregnant lives near by. Bel has always been there for Georgie, so she is able to give the support and push Georgie needs. When Bel shows Georgie their notebook from high school that they used to write their secrets, dreams, aspirations, and crushes in, she takes it to read in hope for inspiration. As Georgie navigates her hometown, will she find her way? Will it give her some clarity? A fun and entertaining read that will even have you laughing out loud at times! Perfect for book clubs as it will lead to some great discussions!
