I understand this is the author debut novel, well done! You definitely know how to tell a story. Molly and Jay have most of their good friends over to celebrate Jay’s 40th birthday. Molly retires as everyone is about to leave. Jay wants to work a bit in his garage office on his book about killers, an interest he has being a psychologist and his father and grandfather’s story of the Boston Strangler also fascinated him. Come morning something is off, doesn’t feel right to Molly. No scent of coffee, no Jay in kitchen. She looks for him in his office and finds him dead, his throat slit. Detective Rita Myers is on the scene, going with her instincts she believes that it was someone Jay knew, someone that was at the party. Will keep you guessing, plus there’s another mystery to be solved, but are they related? The growth and determination with Molly to find her husband’s killer and to deal with her past history of being a victim was riveting. The audio narrators were very good. The only thing was with so many characters, I did rewind to keep them straight. In that respect a book is better, but overall I throughly enjoyed the story. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. Audiobook. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #AlltheDarkPlaces #RBMedia
