Who doesn’t love a good hockey romance? This girl here loves them.; especially Sarina Bowen’s Brooklyn Bruisers series. Love Lessons is the newest release in her hockey series featuring Ian and Vera. There are also plenty of appearances from other prominent series characters. That is one of the things I love most about reading a series, getting to keep tabs on favorite characters. This story features a somewhat enemies to lovers/teacher and student vibe. Ian are neighbors plus their have similar friends so they cross paths frequently. Vera and Ian are attracted to one another, but Vera is hesitant to admit it. The two find themselves off on an Italian vacation with their friends, the only 2 singletons amongst a group of happily paired couples. While in Italy, the relationship between Vera and Ian evolves. I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of Love Lessons, narrated by Joe Arden and Rose Dioro and I throughly enjoyed it. I am quite familiar with Joe Arden and his narration work. Rose Diogo is a relatively new narrator to me. I think I’ve only listened to 1 or 2 other titles narrated by her. I have to say that both did superb with this title. All in all, you can’t go wrong with Love Lessons. It is a fun, sassy and entertaining read.

This is a romance between Ian and Vera. Vera was introduced in the previous book, Shenanigans, as she works with Charli who is married to Neil and Vera also worked with Neil as his personal stylist. Ian was a new character in this book. He is enforcer on the team and in this book, he is having a tough time with his career because he ended up hurting another player from Boston. Let's say he is acting badly and so management is trying to get him to act a bit more together and mature. This story can stand alone however we see other Bruiser players in this book as the whole cast goes to Italy together over the summer. We see a lot of Charli and Neil so if you loved them in Shenanigans then you will get to see them often in this story during the vacation in Italy. In this book Ian is Vera's neighbor and well she does not love him shall we say. Ian on the other hand thinks she is HOT and would love to get together with her. But Vera is not a one night stand kind of woman, in fact she has only ever had one boyfriend who dumped her and now coming back for a second chance. But first she is excited to go with her friends on a summer vacation to Italy. This is very much a very opposite attraction type of romance as Vera and Ian have nothing in common except for friends and the fact that they are neighbors and are going to Italy for the summer. Ian would love a chance with her but Vera would love Ian as a client and if that happens Ian feels bad about lusting after her while she works for him. Ian was an awesome guy. Yeah, he is a mess at times, but he has a very strong conscience and knows the difference between right and wrong. His negative image is something he feels embarrassed about, and he really wants to do better. I loved the whole going to Italy part of the story. I almost felt like I was on vacation with all my favorite Bruisers and their women. I also loved watching Ian and Vera as they end up getting partnered during the trip and I loved watching these two together. There is a big conflict in the story as Ian falls hard for Vera and asks her to be his date for a wedding he doesn't want to attend. However, its the same night as her ex has asked her to attend a social event with him and she sees it as a chance to show him what an awesome woman he missed out on. This conflict really added to the story, and it was really a highlight for me in this story. I absolutely adored this enemies to lovers storyline. Fantastic chemistry with a bit of angst that will have you rooting for Ian and Vera. Their banter is everything! I highly recommend this read!

This book. Ian. Vera. Yes. So many stars and all the good things. If you’re looking for unruly neighbors to more. Frenemies to more. A hot hockey romance , sex tutor scenario, look know further. This was a fantastically written tale that hits the heart, the humor and wow, the heat! I have loved all the hockey books and I second anything Sarina writes. This is no exception. Phenomenal. Highly recommend
