This book was interesting even though the whole kidnapping was a bit much. With the way Hartley was raised I thought she would have had a different reaction. Plus after being so careful she kept getting herself in bad situations. I really didn’t understand what was her father’s issue because that just seemed to be an extreme point of view towards your child. Let’s see - mafia romance, age-gap, bdsm, captor/captive, and there are probably more that just don’t pop up right now but this is a well done story that unites a dark and dangerous man with the woman that is just right for him, even if he has to cage her to keep here. The chemistry was off the charts, the characters were well suited and their world was a minefield that he is determined to protect her from. I loved the pace and the characters and the story line kept moving. Fast read, a bit dark but not too over the top. Well worth the time it too for me to power through it in one sitting because I couldn’t stop!

This book is dark, abusive, and dramatic. There is lots of suspense, twists and turns, kidnappings, killings, shootings, and scorching hot, sexy, chemistry. This is a very good book that had me rooting for Hartley. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.

I love Alexis’s mafia romances and this was no different. I loved Hartley and Zakhar. She grew into her own over time and now she is a strong woman who can now hold her own. Zakhar has felt a connection with Hartley since he first set eyes on her. She becomes his captive, but it soon becomes even more. This is action packed and filled with backstabbers, trust, secrets, lust, friendship, loyalty, deception and some twists along the way. These two are perfect for each other and I love how Zakhar is with Hartley. He is so protective and will do anything and I mean anything to keep her safe. I can’t wait to see what Alexis comes up with next. I really hope Arseny gets his own story.

Zak spots Hartley while at a club he keeps her from a bad situation and takes her. They have an one stand in Hartley’s mind but Zak has no intention on letting her go.This a steamy Mafia read with some action, suspense and plenty of heat. I loved this new story by Alexis. She has a rough bad boy as the hero. The heroine takes part in tons of steamy scenes. There is a lot of action in the book. I really didn't like the heroine's dad.
