Best series ever!

I watched the Anime series first and then read the book and I love how it’s almost exactly the same however the important parts are explained better in the book. If you love the anime read the book and everything becomes so much clearer. If you haven’t watched the anime do it after you read the book the story really comes to life.

Okay…. I’m officially obsessed!! How did it take me so long to give this series a try? Xie Lian is my precious lil cinnamon roll who deserves all the good things (and has someone who will now and forever ensure he does!)

So fun to read! I really love how well written the characters are, and the world building is also done so well. This was definitely a page turner. Only took off one star because I think the two story arcs dragged out for just a little too long. But I still couldn't put this down! I am so excited to read the rest of the series.

I love them. Best book series ever. It has such a great plot and also such a great central romance. I am more invested in their romance than my own life romance. 😂😭 Can Pei Ming be my ally irl? He’s so loyal and supportive.

I love this book so much!!! I can never get enough of it!! Spectacular love story! Incredible plot and well writing! Xie lian and Hua Cheng practically invented love. Their love is so wholesome, I totally recommend this. It’s long but worth it. You might have a hard time a hard time understanding it if you’ve never watched historical C-dramas or have never read a book written by a Chinese author. It can be very confusing but luckily there is a guide. The book is amazing book but can be really dark and may be disturbing to some people. It is not for someone with a weak heart. So watch out but I think you’ll just love the protagonist Xie Lian more as well as the love interest Hua Cheng.

I read this book before it was officially published and I’m so excited that more people will be able to enjoy it now that it’s in English! Great first book, Great series. Worth it! It’s got grey morals, Gods, & Ghosts… what more could ya need?

I don’t know if I should laugh for cry, but I’m in love with everything happening in this story. I cannot wait for vol 2!!
