This was one of those books that surprised me. Thought it was going to be another rom com and it was refreshing. Loved Colby and Ripp, the journey thru what life threw at them. Viera, Ben and Stu. It made me cry and it made me laugh. Really good job.

The Godparent Trap had me feeling all kinds of ways. Rip was an uptight, grumpy accountant that loved his niece and nephew tremendously. Colby is a very laid back food blogger who loves her best friends kids fiercely. Colby and Rip have known each other for years, but for some reason her personality drives him crazy. The two of them were always arguing until they had to team together to take care of their godchildren. I laughed often at them learning to take care of a household and two young kids. Neither one of them quite knew what to do. I also cried a little at the parts that all of them deal with the loss of their loved ones. I had I hard time buying into the romance part of the story. I think I needed more time of them being nice to each other or something. However, I did enjoy this story. It felt very realistic for the most part.

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers book. Colby and Rip have known each other for years, but when his sister/her best friend and her husband are killed, they are now left co-parenting two toddlers. Needless to say things do not go smoothly as they try to figure out not only life with the kids and their jobs but with each other. This story has lots of emotion as Colby and Rip try to come to grips with losing their best friends but also being strong and a comforting for the kids. There are also lots of funny moments as you can imagine when dealing with 2 toddlers and their antics, in addition to Rip’s friend Banks. Once again RVD writes in a way that pulls you in and has you rooting for Colby and Rip to come together.

Rip and Colby are godparents to Rip’s sister Monica’s kids. Rip has always been annoyed by Monica’s best friend Colby. Rip is fastidious and organized, while Colby is a free spirit. When Monica and her husband are killed in a car accident, Rip and Colby have to figure out how to co-parent their two kids. This is a fun opposites attract romance, with some moments that will make you grab your Kleenex. Rip is a great character who had to grow up quick when his parents died and he had to raise his sister when he was just 18. That life event helps explain his need for order and stability. Colby is a food blogger who loves to live life to the fullest. Overall, a lovely, feel good romance. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my opinion.

This is the story about Rip and Colby. They are total opposites but they both love Monica, who is Rip's sister and Colby's bestie. When she marries, Rip becomes besties with her new husband Brooks. They then have two children and both become godparents to the children. Rip is a very hot accountant and Colby is a traveling photographer with a very successful blog. Colby has crushed on Rip for years but they had one very awful date and since then hate each other. But they love Monica and Brooks and their kids and so when Monica and Brooks die they become responsible for their kids. At times it brings them closer but also bring them further away from each other. They both have to really grow up in this story and change their lives and what they imagine for their future as they have to do whats best for the kids. This was a tear jerker but also one that gave me the giggles as Rip experiences the joy of raising kids and Colby falls hard for a life she never thought she wanted. Its an awesome second chance romance but also a great hate turns to friendship and love while navigating life and kids together. I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
