    This novella is different from but similar to other Montgomery stories. This story features Hailey from Taboo & Rebel’s bar and new to us Stone who works with Wes& Storm at Montgomery Inc. Stone was in the Kingdom and has fled for his life. Years ago, he was able to help Hailey do the same, but crushed her heart in the process. This story has drama, a bit of steamy times, and a lot of questionable criminal activity. Read to see what happens with this couple and if they are able to move past their past even when it comes looking for them. *This book may have trigger warnings for those who have dealt with abuse or abusive situations. 4/5 stars

    This is a book in the Underworld Kings series and it features Stone and Sarina. Both trying to escape The Kingdom at different times, Stone finds Sarina 4 years later and wants to try to start again with her.  The only problem with  that is she’s not sure if his intentions are pure. They have an undeniable love for each other but the presence of The Kingdom is a real problem.  Lucky for them the Montgomery’s are a very large family with a very long reach.

    This was a great short read that starts out with lots of intenseness literally from the first page. Stone runs for his life from the King and his cronies, hoping to find his lost love Sarina. She ran years ago, trying to live a normal live, away from the brutality. When they meet again, all they hope for is a future together in peace…so grab it and find out 😊

    I enjoyed getting to know Sarina and Stone. As they struggle to make a better life for themselves and find one another again, you can’t help but root for for them to come out on top. It was fun saying hi to some of the Montgomery’s. Great short story.

    I have to admit I enjoyed this story, but I felt like I was missing something in the background of it. Maybe if I had read the other books I would have understood more about the Kingdom and the players involved. However, Sarina and Stone have quite the story. Both escaping. And finding new families where they relocated to. Finding each other and finally allowing themselves to love each other again. Stone's desire to protect Sarina at all costs is so "white Knight" and yet he does so even knowing she wants nothing to do with him. When trouble comes from their past, who will protect them and stand up for them? I loved seeing appearances from the Montgomery's in this book. However brief, it was good to see them again.

    I liked the determination of Stone and Sarina despite all the pain physical as well emotional that they endured while still maintaining a love for life and each other. The story had a nice touch of intrigue without being overpowering. Until next time y’all happy reading.
