Book Synopsis

New York Times Bestseller

Erin Sterling casts a delightful spell with a spine-tingling romance full of wishes, witches, and hexes gone wrong.

“A delightful and witty take on witchy mayhem.” — Popsugar

Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two.

That is until Rhys Penhallow, descendent of the town’s ancestors, breaker of hearts, and annoyingly just as gorgeous as he always was, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What should be a quick trip to recharge the town’s ley lines and make an appearance at the annual fall festival turns disastrously wrong. With one calamity after another striking Rhys, Vivi realizes her silly little Ex Hex may not have been so harmless after all.

Suddenly, Graves Glen is under attack from murderous wind-up toys, a pissed off ghost, and a talking cat with some interesting things to say. Vivi and Rhys have to ignore their off the charts chemistry to work together to save the town and find a way to break the break-up curse before it’s too late.

Fun read for spooky season with witches and magic. Great descriptions of a fun little town: very Practical Magic vibes. Love the will they won’t they back and forth. Also love when the women characters shine doing what they love.

Really made me realize how cynical I’ve become with time. I did not feel like the ex was penitent enough to come back. He also had not matured in any way after 9 years. It became an act of discipline to get through towards the end

Such a great second chance romance. I loved the witchyness and the Halloween theme. It was perfect for Halloween week. I loved the romance and the couple. They were so sweet and just made me happy. This book was the perfect calm and happy book just to relax to. I have one unanswered question but it seems unnecessary so I’ll let it go. I really loved it and all the characters.

I loved the start of this book and got so wrapped up in the cutest small town, pumpkin-spice, witchy-vibe atmosphere ever! And an intriguing, magic filled love story to start! I even laughed out loud a few times! But the plot just fell apart when the two characters wouldn’t communicate. I was also very frustrated that the plot wouldn’t move forward at the same pace it started. It was as if the reader and characters were stuck waiting around for landmark occasions like the Fall Festival and Halloween. No conversation in the midst of that to developed the characters’ emotions more. But gosh what a cute town and beginning to the plot!! Loved that so much!! Very imaginative at the start!
