    Sweet Joymaker is a sweet, heartwarming, small town, second chance romance. I love how hard Clint worked to make Maria see she was worth loving. I love Ms. Oran’s books. She has the best characters, great towns and unique plots. This book kept me reading well into the night because I could not put it down. Sure, I knew they would get their HEA, but I wanted to see how that was accomplished.

She’s back to living on the ranch with 4 of her sons, who are grown and starting to look forward to their lives as men. Maria realized that a man in town is not only interested in her, but he’s been interested in years. Yet, she doesn’t want to date; she feels like she’s too old and is done with romance. Yet Clint won’t give up on her. Will they be able to overcome her reservations? What will her sons think? This is a sweet romance that reflects what many older women feel. I enjoyed it very much.

    ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars Sweet Joymaker is book 3 in the Indigo Bay Christmas Romances by Jean Oram and the other books in this series by various authors. This story is about Maria Wylder, mother of 5 sons, chief cook and bottle washer who is trying to put her life back together and move on after her husband divorced her, after almost 40 yrs of marriage...so she heads to Indigo Bay hoping to figure out what come next... Clint Walker, business owner and mechanic has been pining for Maria for many years...watching her marriage fall apart. Now he wants to show her that love can come later in life so he heads to Indigo Bay to show her and in the hope that when they return home to Texas that their relationship will bloom and grow into a HEA!

    Fifty-some year old mom––her mindset still on being wife, mom, housekeeper, cook, adviser, and problem-solver––runs off to avoid an issue she'd rather not deal with and comes face to face with another. Clint had been pining for her for years. He follows her to Indigo Bay and proceeds to show her what she means to him. (He's a keeper!)
