    I love this book! I will tell you, you must read this again and again to uncover the many hidden gems of wit and poignancy the author has embedded throughout. The story is a journey in which you’ll encounter helpless love, hope in the midst of despair, glorious artwork, laugh out loud moments and times when you’ll have tears in your eyes.     I enjoyed this little book immensely. Although my life has not been touched by addiction the author makes this difficult subject accessible and the continuous ups and downs, relentless “negotiating” and painful battles almost palpably real. And she manages to infuse her succinct, poignant writing with a healthy dose of humor. Most of all I LOVED the illustrations which are vibrant with color, movement and amazing detail. Highly recommend!

    The author takes one on a complete journey through the addiction to recovery process as seen by an unusual couple ; an unwilling lady with an unruly monkey. The story has been obviously researched completely and the information is not only in the writing but in the art as well. Speaking of art, the illustrations are mind blowing and make the story come alive! This alcoholic gives it 5 stars and a roaring golf clap. Beware you may not catch ALL the details the first go around, it is chock filled with many details you will miss the first time around. You will be monkey- fied!
