Book Synopsis

There are a few things you should know about my brother’s roommate.

Wolfie Cox is . . . complicated. Terminally sexy, and more importantly, he has an impressive stick lodged so far up his ass, he’s about as emotionally available as a chinchilla. Actually, that might be an insult to the chinchilla community.

So, naturally, I want to ride him like a bicycle.

He thinks I hate him. Mostly because I’ve led him to believe this. It’s easier than admitting the alternative.

And while Wolfie is about as soft and cuddly as a fork, I’m the opposite. A good girl. Reliable. Conscientious. Oh, and completely panicked about an upcoming work conference.

Wolfie’s usually allergic to altruism, so when my brother volun-tells him to help me out by escorting me to said conference where everyone else will have a plus-one . . . I say thanks, but no thanks. Surprisingly, Wolfie is unflinching about this. And that’s the story about how I got stuck in a hotel with my brother’s hot (grouchy) roommate.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

In all seriousness, this isn’t a game to me, and hormones aside, I need to impress my boss this week so the promotion I’ve worked hard for doesn’t get handed to his spineless nephew. But with Wolfie and me sharing a hotel bed, things get confusing quickly.

This is book two in the Frisky Business series, but each book can be read as a complete standalone.

I love Ryan’s books but something about this story reminded me of her last book series. The premise feels way to familiar, even her character descriptions seem the same. I still enjoyed it although I wish she’d change it up.

It’s a great book, I loved wolfie and Penelope there chemistry was of the charts. Wolfie is mysterious and Penelope was the only one he trusted. Wolfie had a hard childhood which is what led to him not believing he was good enough for Penelope . She had a crush on him for a long time but once wolfie let Penelope into his life they new they belonged together. This can be read as a standalone or with the series. It’s a great book I loved it. And recommend it.

As roommate to her big brother, Wolfgang Cox has been a fixture in Penelope Blake's life for a long time. One thing has become clear for her, and that's that she's ready to know him better. She's not looking for anything too complicated, but she does know what she wants, and it's Wolfie. Wolfgang Cox has been hiding some pretty heavy stuff behind that gruff exterior, parts of himself that he hasn't shared with anyone. Wolfie is an all work, little play kind of guy, staying far away from intimacy and relationships. As far as he's concerned, it's better that way. Well, I wanted Wolfie's book, and Kendall delivered very nicely. What can I say, I like a complicated man. I really appreciated the way that Kendall handled some potentially difficult subject matter, recognizing the fact that men can be victims, too, and offering a safe space for healing to take place. MY BROTHER'S ROOMMATE offered the flip side of a familiar tale, and it was extremely well done. All serious stuff aside, there is plenty of steam in this story, and plenty of romance, with enough of a departure from the norm to keep things interesting. Penelope and Wolfie make a great team and couple, and following them to their HEA made for a very enjoyable read. Next up, THE STUD NEXT DOOR, and I am more than ready, because Connor's back story has got me ready and waiting to see what's next for him. ❤️

Next guy from this group falls for the girl! Wolfie and Penelope have always been attracted to each other, but because Wolfie lives with her brother, it doesn’t seem like the best idea. When Penelope needs a date to her work’s weekend retreat, her brother offers up Wolfie, unaware of the feelings they both have towards each other. Agreeing to fake date for the weekend, Wolfie really steps up to the plate for Penelope and puts her in a great standing for a promotion at work. But once they get home, things aren’t the same between them after they ventured into being together that weekend. As they struggle with spending time together and wanting more, the book takes a serious turn with Wolfie explaining why he struggles with having a relationship and his intimacy issues. Not many books write about it, and I’m happy that Kendall focused on it in this one because it really opens up this topic to discussion. Through all that, we also see Penelope deal with an unfair work environment, but it’s the spark she needs to get her life in order and determine what she really wants. In the end, this couple is able to work through everything and take a chance on a relationship with each other and I’m so happy because these two deserve their HEA! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The name wolfie reminded me of a dogs name. Not a sexy name for a sexy character. Still enjoyed the book.

Penelope needs a date to her company retreat. When her brother volunteers his friend and roommate Wolfie she jumps at the opportunity. She has had a crush on Wolfie for awhile. Wolfie is closed off and broken. He doesn’t think he is good enough for Penelope. Great romance. I liked how Wolfie’s issues were talked about frankly yet sensitively. Wonderful story. The series is great! Best read in order as the previous characters are mentioned and part of the current story.

I absolutely loved Wolfie and Penelope. They were a fantastic couple and you could just feel the chemistry between these two. Wolfie had quite the past that made him feel unworthy of someone like Penelope but it was actually just who he needed. Penelope was a strong woman and she needed to be in order to be what got through to Wolfie. I loved the peeks into Connor’s (Penelope’s brother and Wolfie’s roommate) life and am really looking forward to his book next. This is a great series and I am enjoying each book.
