⭐️⭐️⭐️💫rounded to 4⭐️ on Goodreads and retailer sites. Beauty and the Professor by Skye Warren was an enjoyable audiobook. It is the first half A Modern Fairytale Duet. The book is about Erin, a college student who has one semester left in her college career. She had worked to support herself cleaning houses while in college, and had been cleaning Blake’s house for months. Blake was a veteran who had been badly burned while in the military, which had ended his chances of following in his father’s footsteps as a politician. He had been living as a recluse since leaving the hospital and he found Erin so kind and achingly beautiful that he paid her twice a week to clean his spotless house. Each felt unworthy of the other. Everything changed when Erin inadvertently came upon him in a compromising position and subsequently propositioned him. As they start to build a relationship, professional changes for Blake tested their bond and they would have to make decisions on how to move forward. This was my first book by the author and I didn’t know what to expect. What I got was a book chocked full of spice with a little bit of story in between. It is definitely a choice for when you are looking for a steamy read. The narrators did a good job with this dual POV audiobook, providing character to the people in the novel. This is a steamy age-gap, wealth/poverty, professor/student, Beauty and the Beast retelling as a contemporary romance. Both main characters are relatable and multifaceted. The writing was easy to follow. If these tropes appeal to you, then you may enjoy it too! I am voluntary writing this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Valentine PR and Audible Audio.

It’s was good. I struggled trying to tell who said what, but I loved the story.

Ending made no sense. Came out of nowhere. Annoyed I didn’t realize this wasn’t a full story. Also, I seriously doubt the use of “anyways” by a grad student and someone with a professor. The use of this word is a pet peeve of mine, but especially when used by characters that probably wouldn’t ever add an unnecessary s to a word without it being ironic.

The non-ending sucked. Hate being strung along.

I liked the book but am so tired of these different authors doing these three part books. It’s such an irritation. I am not spending more money on more books to get to the end. Just wasn’t that good to want to pay for more.

Wow! What a sizzling opening! I was hooked from the very first page and it just kept going. I could barely keep up. My kindle almost caught fire! This story is so raw and beautiful. So real, so emotional and intense that I couldn’t put it down. I was like a zombie and read it all in one sitting... and then there was a twist I didn’t see coming! I adore Blake and Erin so much and the ending just about killed me!! I can’t wait to read more of them!
