Loved this book! Jillian and Justin are a great couple and this storyline is one I’ve not read before. Maya Banks writes great historical romance.

I read plenty of books by Maya Banks. Her writing is always splendid, easy to follow and can visualize every word. However the plot of this book is lacking. It is really slow paced and predictable.

I thought this was a good story and I liked the characters. There were a few odd moments that didn't make sense though. For instance, it was the end of November/beginning of December and Jillian was wandering through the garden at night in a ball gown as if it was July. Or same cold time frame and she gets thrown from a horse into a creek and they walk slowly back to the manor. Just little things like that that weren't logical. There are several throughout the book. For me it was a distraction. I really liked the secondary characters Case and Hawk. I went to the author's webpage to see when the next book was coming out and to my dismay, these characters don't have a story about them. The next three books are completely unrelated to this book. Very disappointed!
