Book Synopsis

To the world, I no longer exist.
The life I live occurs outside the third dimension—a memory, a ghost, the boogeyman, or perhaps simply a figment of the imagination.
When I’m passed on the street, there is no connection.
No eye contact.
I’m the one whose presence leaves a cold chill of uncertainty, quickly erased by minds who don’t want to acknowledge that men like me exist.
On the dark web, I’m known as Kader, and for the right price, I will do what others can’t or won’t.
I’ve learned to exist within the hard shell I’ve created—until I see her.
Laurel Carlson.
Her blue eyes see beyond my impenetrable exterior.
Her sensual lips long to be kissed and her hidden curves caressed.
My mind is obsessed and my body ignited.
Though I exist outside her comfort zone, I must enter her world, take the chance, and learn what it is about this beautiful, intelligent, and marked woman that has me entranced—before her time is up.

A straightforward mystery about a secret research product that some secret entities want. But it is the mysterious Kader that keeps the reading full of more questions than answers. Caught up in a relationship with the lovely and intelligent scientist, Laurel, can he remain a killing machine?

Started out good in the beginning. The middle was slow and I almost stopped reading but instead it took 3 months to complete. The ending picked back up. I guess I was used to this author keeping the pace and the intensity throughout the entire story. Not sure if will read the series.
  • Don’t bother

Honestly this book was a total drag. It took to long to get to the good part, and the good part only lasted one page. This book didn’t have my full attention.

After reading Twisted it was a well written book and I enjoyed the characters, it kinda reminds me of something else I have already read. But it’s a good story and I do like Aleatha’s write.

This should be the blueprint for all authors of this genre. A wonderfully woven story, with mystery, suspense and...of course...passion. I was enthralled from the first chapter, and am thankful I don’t have to wait to read Obsessed.
  • Dark, intense and steamy

Twisted by Aleatha Romig is the first book in the Tangled Web series and it will captivate you from the beginning. It was full of suspense, chemistry and steaminess. Kadar and Laurel’s journey will pull you right in from the start. Kadar is a dark man who lives in the shadow and never lets anyone in. Then he saw Laurel. Can he let her in? Laurel is a strong woman who loves her work. When she needs help, Kadar steps in. Their connection is intense and quick. This is the first book in the series, and we learn a bit from both characters. I cannot wait to find more. Happy reading!

Twisted takes you on a rollercoaster. You don’t know what is going on and who is behind it all. I tried figuring it all out but it left me stumped. I loved the interactions between the two main characters. Kader was definitely all alpha while Laurel seemed a little naive to what was going on. This book definitely had the drama and mystery and I loved it!!!
