I loved this book, the characters and the storyline were wonderful. Ready for the next book in the series.

Great Read

I found it odd for an employer not to know their employee backgrounds, but given the fact that Melody is in Wit-Sec, perhaps some strings are pulled. Justin approaches her with a question of what does she think will bring in clients for over the holidays. She paints an old-time Christmas theme and he is intrigued with the ideas as well as the woman she is. I loved that she manages to fit in to the small town, helping everyone along the way and trying to keep her distance from her boss. She has secrets she cannot share but she desperately wants a life since her former one has been ripped away from her. This book has romance and suspense with only a little bit of cowboy thrown in. I would have thought there would have been more cowboy to this but it is more of a family business.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I just love Trish Milburn's work. I have all of her work on Harlequin. Ms. Milburn always delivers quality stories to her readers. This story is another great read. I just loved the premise of WITSEC especially for a victim. The story is written in a dual POVs. This allows the reader to get into Melody's head to understand her reasons for being cautious and slightly standoffishness (is that a word?) I just hated to put this book down. I was glued from the beginning. The only disappointment, the ENDING!!! It came way too soon. The book could have kept on going and going. If you love cowboy type of romance, then you have to pick this up.

Her Cowboy Prince (Book 1 in the Once Upon a Western Series) by Trish Milburn. This is Melody Shaw and Justin McQueen’s story. This was a great read with a sweet romance, suspense, mystery, secrets, and entertaining characters. I really liked Melody and Justin’s characters. Man, there are so many obstacles in their way. Will Justin and Melody overcome these obstacles to take a chance on love? I enjoyed the supporting characters too. Looking forward to the next books in this series. I reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
