Book Synopsis

“I’ll do anything. Cooking, cleaning, even making coffee. I’m good at making coffee.”

Upon uttering the word coffee, Jenny Stone, the smart, resilient, and sharp-tongued girl somehow finds herself paying off her father’s debt by working as a maid to the mafia boss, Giovanni Dente, the obsessive-compulsive coffee drinker with movie star good looks.

And this is just the beginning of Jenny’s new life.

Between serving the man his brew at ungodly hours and doing his dirty work, she also has to attend college, ace her exams, and find a way to contact her father and sister who have abandoned her.

But within the intricate web Giovanni binds around her, when it comes time for her to leave, she isn’t sure if she can make it out alive, especially when somewhere along the way, she realizes her heart is totally captivated.

completely a waste of time. couldn’t tell what year it was, very jumbled up writing. the main guy is stupid and controlling. the main girl is childish at her big age. she literally worships the guy, ew. DO NOT READ IT. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. i have so much more to say but i’m done giving this book my energy.
  • Really really immature

The book was just... bad. Really annoying and immature. It’s literally a struggle to read. You can’t even tell what time period they’re supposed to be in. They talk like they’re from the 20’s but then the author talks about phones, iPads, and flat screens. Just all around poorly written.
  • Not what I expected at the end

I love how this book is well thought out and speaks to the people who are in love with people who are hurt and don’t have good communication skills. The book remained me so much of my life I shed a couple of tears for Jenny. Absolutely in LOVE with the series
  • Wow!

Stopped reading by Chapter 3. Horrified by the writing. It’s like the character just babbles with no coherent thoughts... even at 18, she still speaks like she’s 5. Disappointed.
  • Had to quit reading; too cringy

The story was middle of the road, but the verbiage was CRINGY!! If you can get over the fact that the book starts with a 12 year old crushing on a 5 year old, you’re only up for disappointment the further you read. I had to quit not even halfway through. The characters speak in broken english even though they’re born & raised in New York, and its irritating.
  • Ummm what?

I am embarrassed to say that I read this whole book. It makes no sense. Literally. The characters are American but speak as if from a foreign country. Scenes aren’t explained and leave you confused. Sentences are fragmented or incorrect and laughable. And it’s as if the author needed to fit every cliche saying, phrase, and dramatic plot into this book. Was this written by a child? Someone learning a second language?

I enjoy and liked the book so far. Can't wait for the next book. I love how the main girl protagonist is brave and strong. You can tell that she love her family by her action. Can't wait to see the love build up between the protagonists. So far, I enjoyed a lot of wanitta's book. Good job. Keep up the good work. Can't for the the next book.
