  • Good, but less character development compared to the others

I loved this series and this book. However, this one lacked a bit of character development compared to the others. It was still wonderful and I would say that if you liked the others, you’ll like this one as well!
  • Love the field series...but this one let me down

I have been reading Abbi Glines for years and have loved reading all of her books. I was so looking forward to Losing the Field to continue the story line of the Field series but I was definitely disappointed. I felt like there was a lack of character development with Nash and Haegen and a lot of time was missing throughout the book. The sequences of events was sometimes dizzying and disjointed. Really missed the relationship development between Tallulah & Nash but loved the first part of the book up to the water tower.

Gotta love the evil slut perfect virgin stereotype. Not toxic at all. Also if a guy treats you like that don’t go back have back bone.

  • Great Friday Night Read!

I really enjoyed this story of being lost, finding ones self, friendship, love, loss, heartache... it deals with so many things and it’s brought together beautifully. The writing is great, the narrators (I purchased the audio and listened) were really good at bringing the characters voices to life. They did a great job. Tallulah was a great character, she is the epitome of what some girls go through in HS. Being overweight most of her life, she’s no stranger to the snickers, harsh words, ridicule, heartache, loneliness, and feeling worthless and unloved. But she has a great spirit and tries to not let that get her down. I hated when she would put herself down because she really had some great qualities about her. Nash was your typical jock, but he was always nice to Tallulah when she was invisible to everyone else, and she had went to school with this kids practically her entire life. Until an accident changed him. Everyone noticed, even Tallulah. He has a hard time accepting his fate and isn’t ready to face a life without his one main love, football. Lots of lessons to be learned in this book, and how these characters handled these lessons (albeit they didn’t do so good at first, it took time, as with a lot of people. But they got there!) was great to see. Although I do think Tallulah could have been more forceful and adamant in a certain situation, but I know until her senior year and her weight loss, she was practically a wallflower and didn’t really know how to react to certain situations, not that it was her fault mind you, it wasn’t. The only things I can “complain” about is that 1) she keeps saying how fat she was. But after one summer she went back skinny. She couldn’t have been too overweight that she went back after 3 months real skinny. And definitely wouldn’t be that huge of a transformation that kids at school wouldn’t recognize her. But then again, she was always a wallflower, blending into the background, not wanting to be noticed so that probably had more to do with it that her transformation. Lol 2) I WANTED AN EPILOGUE! Or at least another chapter or two. It seems we are left hanging just a bit there at the end. Not to spoil too much, but I wonder if she went back (those who read it know what I mea lol) and how others treated her after the fact. Truly, I really wanted more of these characters and hope maybe one day the author will do a bonus epilogue down the round for these two. All in all, I really enjoyed the story and how things went. A great Friday night read. (Ironically I finished this on a Friday lol). Makes me miss HS football nights when my girls were in band.

I feel like this was some of Abbi’s best work yet. I relate to all the characters so much, I can understand each one and what they are going through. I think that is what makes her such a unique author. Her ability to put you in the shoes of every character, it is just amazing. You feel like in away you’re going through it side by side with them. I think this book shows that weight doesn’t define you, and there will always be haters out there who want to see you fail. It’s about the people inside the body, not the body itself. Plus it helps that she’s also from Alabama!
  • Another amazing book!

What can I say, this book was amazing. As soon as it came available, I downloaded it and read it in 1 night. I just couldn’t put it down. Abbi Glines is my favorite author to read. Tellulah is relatable and I’ve loved Nash since the beginning. Losing the Field definitely keeps you interested throughout the entire book, between the scandals, mean girls, relatable high school experience and showing the dark side of coming forward about harassment, add in current social entertainment (vloggers) and you have a great entertaining book!!!
